This chapter presents some water depollution treatments that can be carried out using advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), and in particular based on photoactivated reactions. The most frequently used processes are briefly described together with their reaction mechanisms. The principles on which they are based, the advantages, disadvantages and performance obtained are also discussed.
