This article explores the representation of the Montmartre bombing in Féerie pour une autre fois II by Louis-Ferdinand Céline, highlighting how the author transforms trauma into a radical perceptual and aesthetic experience. Far from merely recounting events, the narrative enacts catastrophe through a visionary and fragmented language, rich in distorted imagery, extreme chromaticism, obsessive metaphors, and dissonant sounds. The analysis is structured around four main thematic areas: the visual and rhetorical elaboration of destruction, the metamorphosis of domestic and urban space, syntactic fragmentation, and the structuring role of phantasmagoria. The latter, understood as both perceptual and cognitive device, allows access to a form of non-discursive truth, making perceptible the trace of the inexpressible. In this framework, the city is made tangible through a sensory language that dissolves spatial and subjective coordinates. The bombing becomes a crisis of language and perception, reflecting the internal rupture caused by trauma. The article thus proposes a reading of Céline’s writing as an extreme form of transfiguration of the real.
