The article offers an analysis of the framework of relevant sources addressing the contrast of the gender gap in access to academic roles and positions within the Italian legal order. It examines three case studies (the Universities of Palermo, Turin and Milan «La Statale») to illustrate the significant variability of the measures that Italian universities can adopt to reduce gender disparities in academic recruitment and advancement. The article concludes with reflections aimed at highlighting the importance of interventions tailored to the specific context of each academic community in effectively addressing these inequalities.
