Tra terra e mare. La lunga strada del progetto di architettura

The essay, which emerged from the 5th Meeting organized by PROARCH in Bari in January 2024, introduces and outlines some of the issues raised during the study day, consistently with the themes explored by the projects on display. The four scenarios highlighted by the scientific committee (The City and the Port; Coastal Informal Landscapes; Forgotten Industry and the Sea; Heritage, Landscape, and Sea) all become opportunities to reflect on the destinies of the contemporary city along its extended border with the sea. This broad margin has frequently been used—just like the suburbs—to relocate a series of activities that were attempted to be hidden and distanced from the urban morphology. The essay envisions some positive and future modus operandi capable of reversing these current critical issues.

Il saggio, scaturito dal V Meeting organizzato da PROARCH a Bari nel gennaio 2024, introduce e tratteggia alcune delle questioni poste in discussione nella giornata di studi in modo coerente rispetto ai temi esplorati dai progetti in mostra. I quattro scenari posti all'attenzione dal comitato scientifcio (La città e il porto; I paesaggi dell’informale costiero; L’industria dimenticata e il mare; Patrimonio, paesaggio e mare) diventano tutte occasioni per riflettere sui destini della città contemporanea nel suo esteso limite con il mare. Questo ampio margine è stato frequentemente - esattamente come le periferie – utilizzato per dislocare una serie di attività che si tentava di nascondere e allontanare dalla morfologia urbana. Il saggio prefigura alcuni positivi e futuri modus operandi in grado di ribaltare tali attuali criticità.
