This work aimed to identify and characterize Fusarium species from soils where potatoes are grown, one of the most important crops in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based on this, 13 Fusarium isolates obtained from soil from 12 locations in the country were subjected to morphological characterization using macroscopic and microscopic observations, pathogenicity assay and molecular characterization using multilocus sequence typing (MLST) to evaluate their morphological and genetic diversity, respectively. The obtained results present the first study of genetic diversity of Fusarium Species.

Abstract

This work aimed to identify and characterize Fusarium species from soils where potatoes are grown, one of the most important crops in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based on this, 13 Fusarium isolates obtained from soil from 12 locations in the country were subjected to morphological characterization using macroscopic and microscopic observations, pathogenicity assay and molecular characterization using multilocus sequence typing (MLST) to evaluate their morphological and genetic diversity, respectively. The obtained results present the first study of genetic diversity of Fusarium Species.
