The relationship between tangible goods and intangible value calls for an in-depth reflection on the role of design in cultural productions, particularly in relation to heritage, community, and identity. Today, museums play an active role in the creation and dissemination of knowledge, engaging the public in the co-production of scientific and cultural content. In this context, design emerges as a dialogical and interpretive tool, capable of addressing the complexity of contemporary phenomena and supporting strategies aimed at sharing, identity awareness, and dialogue. Many contemporary museum projects promote open and participatory modes of engagement, encouraging collective flows and connections that impact how cultural values are communicated and transmitted. This article explores such dynamics through projects focused on the collection of everyday objects donated by citizens, highlighting the role of design in heritage enhancement and social innovation. Emblematic case studies demonstrate new methodologies and good practices in co-design and exhibition design, showcasing the evolving contribution of design to cultural experience and narration.
