In memoria di Pietro Cerami : iuris prudentia e modernità del diritto

This work is the transcription of the introduction of the Conference organized in memory of Professor Pietro Cerami which was held in Palermo on 7 and 8 October 2022. The Conference, entitled ‘Iuris prudentia and modernity of law’, is an interdisciplinary meeting which involves authoritative exponents of the national and international academy but also of legal professions, with the aim of drawing inspiration from the ideas and writings of professor to continue his work and reflections. The central theme consists of the model of the Roman 'iuris prudentia', the centrality and unity of the jurist’s role and the inseparability of law from its science.
