There are words that for some reason sound neutral, or even positive, with regard to the future: innovation, progress, growth. Perhaps, however, in light of what decades ago was defined as innovation, progress and growth, today these words are starting to take on less clear and less distinct meanings. When a new, disruptive technology arrives that shows the world how much it can change and improve it, we are all gripped by such euphoria that we forget what the possible negative, unexpected and unforeseen impacts could be compared to a temporary improvement. The concept that might be worth spending a little more thought on is precisely the one linked to the unknown, the unknown and the unexpected that hides behind the pervasive technologies with which we share our lives on a daily basis.

Abstract
There are words that for some reason sound neutral, or even positive, with regard to the future: innovation, progress, growth. Perhaps, however, in light of what decades ago was defined as innovation, progress and growth, today these words are starting to take on less clear and less distinct meanings. When a new, disruptive technology arrives that shows the world how much it can change and improve it, we are all gripped by such euphoria that we forget what the possible negative, unexpected and unforeseen impacts could be compared to a temporary improvement. The concept that might be worth spending a little more thought on is precisely the one linked to the unknown, the unknown and the unexpected that hides behind the pervasive technologies with which we share our lives on a daily basis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
