Karl Marx e "il regno della libertà"

At the beginning of the 21st century or, if you prefer, of the third millennium, the name of Karl Marx seems to have disappeared from the indexes of manuals and publications dedicated to historical materialism. Having reached a quarter of the 21st century, we might ask ourselves if today the name of Karl Marx can evoke the ghosts of the past: of the Parisian revolution of 1848, of the Commune of 1871 and of the October Revolution of 1917. To this question, indirect or direct as it may be, we believe that the answer can be no, since the prevailing need is to read Marx's production, as we would do with other authors of the history of thought, with the contemporary age at the head.

Ad inizio del XXI secolo o, se si preferisce, del terzo millennio, il nome di Karl Marx sembra essere scomparso dagli indici dei manuali e delle pubblicazioni dedicate al materialismo storico. Essendo giunti ad un quarto di secolo XXI, potremmo chiederci se oggi il nome di Karl Marx può evocare i fantasmi del passato: della rivoluzione parigina del 1848, della comune del 1871 e della rivoluzione d’ottobre del 1917. A questo interrogativo, indiretto o diretto che sia, riteniamo che si possa rispondere di no, essendo prevalente l’esigenza di leggere la produzione di Marx, così come faremmo con gli altri autori della storia del pensiero, con a capo l’età contemporanea.
