Within the framework of a deeply rooted cult of the deceased in Sicilian culture and an architectural tradition dating back to the early 20th century, three small structures were built in the cemetery of a small town in the province of Trapani. Conceived and executed in consecutive moments, the three works share the use of the same construction technique and can be interpreted as three spatial ideas for a single theme. The projects aim to develop a coherent architectural language, based on light and void, while simultaneously exploring the plastic potential of concrete to shape the essential space of memory. In this way, the structural, functional, and formal components converge, resulting in an architecture that could ideally dispense with any additional finishes.
