18 F-FDG–PET/CT may be a useful nonin- vasive tool for identifying and localizing active intestinal inflammation, not only in adult but also in pediatric patients with IBD. Even if 18 F-FDG–PET/CT currently does not replace conventional studies, this functional approach may be useful when conventional studies either cannot be per-formed or fail to be completed.

Abstract

18 F-FDG–PET/CT may be a useful nonin- vasive tool for identifying and localizing active intestinal inflammation, not only in adult but also in pediatric patients with IBD. Even if 18 F-FDG–PET/CT currently does not replace conventional studies, this functional approach may be useful when conventional studies either cannot be per-formed or fail to be completed.
