School plays a central role in the city, it is a service, an aid, a proximity space, an urban laboratory where creative solutions can be experimented as a response to the challenges imposed by the current time. Our research considers school as an advanced crossing point on a path towards a change of state: from a simple node for knowledge transmission, it becomes a place where culture, generations and ideas meet. NatureCityLAB (UniBas) and LabCity Architecture (UniPa) have activated an intense collaboration among the actors involved in the community education, to develop action research projects for the renaturalization and the creation of permanent education sites oriented to sustainability.
