To the Editor: Although previously informed by a set of private emails on this question by Dr Pfründer, we appreciate his correspondence in this journal related to our contribution on the intersection between Kaspar Hauser’s case and the history of dermatology and vaccination. 1 This research may well find its milieu in paleopathology, in which an integrated use of artistic, literary, written, and biologic sources can be achieved to unravel the antiquity of disease and related therapies or preventive measures.
