Cambiar pelle: i mutamenti delle identità territoriali delle aree interne

The article discusses the relationship between territorial identities and inner areas, with particular reference to the identity changes they are experiencing in recent years, due to the combined effect of uncontrollable events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and particularly incisive policies such as the National Strategy for Inner Areas (SNAI). Phenomena such as rural gentrification, the musealization and heritagization of the territory, the creation of tourist itineraries, remote working and the return to hamlets are changing our very idea of what an inner area is. In this shifting magma, taking stock of the identity question can trigger new geographical reasoning.

L’articolo discute il rapporto tra identità territoriali e aree interne, con particolare riferimento ai cambiamenti identitari che queste stanno sperimentando negli ultimi anni, per l’effetto combinato di eventi incontrollabili come la pandemia da COVID-19 e di politiche particolarmente incisive, come la Strategia Nazionale per le Aree Interne. Fenomeni come la gentrification rurale, la musealizzazione e patrimonializzazione del territorio, la creazione di itinerari turistici, il remote working e il ritorno ai borghi stanno modificando le nostre idee su cosa sia un’area interna.
