This paper analyses the different types of traumas suffered by ‘los niños perdidos’, not only the verbal trauma, but also those related to the five senses, that shaked and terrified children’s mental health. Starting from a structural and linguistic fragmentarism, that breaks down the linear conception of time and space, Laila Ripoll’s Los niños perdidos (2005) digs up one of the most painful and unhappy moments of Spanish Civil War History, that is children confined in orphanages, turning children’s traumatic memory into collective memory.
