Postproduzione

Called to reflect on a word and its meanings for architecture, the essay chooses the term Postproduction as an epistemological horizon and theoretical and operational category for contemporary architecture. Starting from the aesthetic hypothesis promoted by the art critic and philosopher Nicolas Bourriaud, the essay investigates a possible perspective of architecture that looks not at what we do new but how we make the things we already have new. A political perspective that tries to indicate a horizon also in light of the questions posed by the so-called ecological transition; and which proposes an operational field in the transformation of existing buildings inherited from the Modern season.

Chiamato a riflettere su una parola e sui suoi significati per l'architettura, il saggio sceglie il termine Postproduzione come orizzonte epistemologico e categoria teorica e operativa per l'architettura contemporanea. Muovendo dall'ipotesi estetica promossa dal critico e filosofo dell'arte Nicolas Bourriaud, il saggio indaga una possibile prospettiva dell'architettura che guarda non a ciò che facciamo di nuovo ma come facciamo nuove le cose che abbiamo già. Una prospettiva politica che prova ad indicare un orizzonte anche alla luce delle domande poste dalla cosiddetta transizione ecologica; e che propone un campo operativo nella trasformazione degli edifici esistenti ereditati dalla stagione del Moderno.
