«DUE VOLTE FUORI CASA ERAVAMO. UNA IN GERMANIA E UNA IN MEZZO AL MONDO». VOCI SICILIANE SCRITTE DALL’“ALTROVE” TEDESCO NEL SECONDO NOVECENTO

In this research we will deal with two texts – one in prose and one in poetry – which contain direct and indirect testimonies of emigrants, mainly Sicilians, who experienced the “spartenza” rift and the difficult coexistence with a world that spoke and lived differently: the text Tutti dicono Germania, Germania by Stefano Vilardo (1975 e rist. 2007) and La vita è qui. Wolfsburg, una storia italiana by Margherita Carbonaro (2012), which has the characteristic of being presented with a facing text to be “returned” also to the generations of emigrants who are now German-speaking. To these two main testimonies, deliberately distant in time, we will add some evidence present in three others: Cassisi (2005), Mannino (2005) and Sala, Massariello Merzagora (2008).

In questa ricerca ci occuperemo di due testi – uno in prosa e uno in poesia – in cui sono raccolte testimonianze dirette e indirette di emigrati, prevalentemente siciliani, che hanno vissuto lo strappo della “spartenza” e la difficile convivenza con un mondo che parlava e viveva in modo diverso: il testo Tutti dicono Germania, Germania di Stefano Vilardo (1975 e rist. 2007) e La vita è qui. Wolfsburg, una storia italiana di Margherita Carbonaro (2012), che ha la caratteristica di presentarsi con testo a fronte per essere “restituita” anche alle generazioni di emigrati ormai tedescofone. A queste due testimonianze principali, volutamente distanti nel tempo,affiancheremo alcuni riscontri presenti in altre tre: Cassisi (2005), Mannino (2005)e Sala, Massariello Merzagora (2008).
