The contribution first provides a framework of the state of the art in the implementation of differentiated autonomy pursuant to art. 116 comm3 of the constitution. It analyses the rules desired by the Meloni government for the acceleration of implementation. It focuses on the problematic amphibology of the LEP that probably took the legislator by surprise. It investigates the major defects in the framework rules of the concrete implementation of differentiated autonomy highlighting five specific problems. It concludes with brief reflections on the lightness of Italy in the last quarter of a century when it comes to crucial choices for the institutional political system.
