The phenomenon of global human mobility is a fitting space for the professional practice of social work. The relationship with social work and local services represents a key moment in the integration of foreign citizens due to the multiplication of needs and requests for specific services such as access to local health care, housing and work, children’s schooling, and assistance in bureaucratic procedures. By adopting comparative and collaborative research methods, the Global Answer project has focused on the identification, analysis and dissemination of good practices in the field of social work, applied social sciences to social action and social care and human mobility in the European countries involved in the project: Spain, Italy and Sweden. Global Answer’s innovative approach will emphasize joint action for organizational change in the provision of social care, social services and social work practice with migrant populations, based on collaborative multidisciplinary social research applied to migration. As a model of social innovation, the project brings together individuals and communities, including civil society organizations, to address specific challenges and to promote social cohesion.
