Regarding the relationship between cultural products, identity, and ideology, Cultural Studies and their specific branches, such as Media Studies, have extensively demonstrated how the role of media communication is intrinsically tied to hegemonic systems that regulate cultural processes and the production of consent. This work situates itself within the broader, transdisciplinary debate on how the shared European experience of authoritarianism has influenced the construction of identity and historical memory, with particular emphasis on narratives and representations of women. Specifically, the study examines the extent to which the journalist and writer Orio Vergani adhered to the regime's prescriptions concerning the perception of the female figure. Using a holistic methodological approach rooted in Raymond Williams’s concept of the cultural triad, the analysis of Vergani’s narrative articles avoids preconceived categorizations that would interpret his writing as an unequivocal celebration of fascist ideology. Instead, it seeks to uncover potential fractures and spaces of dissent embedded within his works.

Abstract
Instead, it seeks to uncover potential fractures and spaces of dissent embedded within his works.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
