Limitare l'indicibile (tra parole e forme)

The article offers a reflection on the interaction between "alphabetic writing" and "architectural writing," which becomes a central theme in the context of the periodic Qualitative Evaluation of Research (VQR). This cyclical evaluation process has paradoxically shown, consistently, that within the scientific disciplines of Architectural and Urban Composition, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Architecture, there is a general reluctance to present the "product"—i.e., the project—that should most define the GSD CEAR 09/ABC in the VQR. The article, therefore, not only summarizes some important opinions and statistics that serve as the scientific foundation for the topic addressed, but also identifies the conditions that could overcome the current stalemate. It proposes a path in which the architectural project once again becomes the primary tool of research activity and regains the prominence it should have in the study of Architecture.

L’articolo presenta una riflessione sulla interazione tra la “scrittura alfabetica” e la “scrittura architettonica” che diventa un tema centrale in occasione della periodica Valutazione Qualitativa della Ricerca. Questo ciclico processo valutativo ha dimostrato paradossalmente con continuità quanto, all’interno dei settori scientifico disciplinari della Composizione Architettonica e Urbana, dell’Architettura del paesaggio e dell’Architettura degli interni, vi sia una complessiva sfiducia nel presentare alla VQR quel “prodotto”, cioè il progetto, che più dovrebbe caratterizzare il GSD CEAR 09/ABC. L’articolo quindi – oltre a riassumere alcune importanti opinioni e statistiche che costituiscono la base di partenza scientifica dell’argomento affrontato – individua quelle condizioni in grado di superare l’attuale situazione di stallo, prospettando quell’itinerario in cui il progetto di architettura torni ad essere lo strumento principale dell’attività di ricerca e quel protagonismo che in generale dovrebbe avere nello studio dell’Architettura.
