The sixteenth century in Sicily was a century of great urban and architectural transformations, often favored by the government authorities themselves. The new architectures, in the declared will promulgated by regulations, gave decoration to the building fronts and a new impulse to the road systems. In this context, on the basis of precise descriptions and references to works already done as well as the ones to be carried out, the domus of Federico Abatellis, Count of Cammarata, designed by the architect Anselmo Quaranta in 1511, fits well, for which an explicit planning was required of the construction process.

Abstract
The sixteenth century in Sicily was a century of great urban and architectural transformations, often favored by the government authorities themselves. The new architectures, in the declared will promulgated by regulations, gave decoration to the building fronts and a new impulse to the road systems. In this context, on the basis of precise descriptions and references to works already done as well as the ones to be carried out, the domus of Federico Abatellis, Count of Cammarata, designed by the architect Anselmo Quaranta in 1511, fits well, for which an explicit planning was required of the construction process.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
