While until a few years ago 'museumifying the landscape' had the negative and polemical connotation of implementing 'forms of restrictive and passive protection applied to large areas,' in the new Millennium, landscape and museum are connected in an original and fruitful relationship. Thanks to the renewed interest of geographers in the museum aspects and, at the same time, the shift in institutions dedicated to conservation towards a more mature focus on the enhancement of the context, the concept of museumification of the landscape is no longer about 'fixing' a territory in a given condition or making it return to the past, but rather amplifying, guiding, designing, and making perceptible the changes, particularly in the relationships between the natural and cultural elements that the landscape contains.
