Lo stupore della speranza tra incontro e dialogo

In a difficult time like the present, where differences seem to divide irremediably and where being different seems almost an inevitable condemnation to confrontation, how is it possible to offer an alternative perspective from which to look at things? How is it possible to arrive at the amazement of the "we" without remaining anchored to the sole hope of the "I" of the "you"? The reflection arises precisely from the desire to trace that sound background of a positive amazement, of a "mind all suspended" that marks the flowering of common hope, of that hope that, in the open space of dialogue, sees the "we" while the "them" still exists, the "near" while we still live "distant", the "similar" when the negative determination of the different still dominates.
