Between the sixteenth and seventeenth siglos began to circulate in the West representations of Turkish, seen as the last precursor of the barbarian customs and traditions, facing western civilization. To weigh the conflicts and representations of the infidels, were diplomatic and commercial relations between the West and the “Sublime Puerta” there has been a passion for Ottoman fashion in some areas of the Christian West. Certainly, we can mention the café, the fabrics that, especially in the siglos analyzed here, have allowed the West to “imitate” the imperial style and fashion. Especially in the Baroque period, the expression “Turquerie” was coined for indicate turkish products and objects which, combined with the “Chinoiseries”, were converted into an object of desire by the European elites.
