The memory of hundreds of buildings and urban sites destroyed in Europe during WW1 and WW2 is often preserved by a single or few photographs. The paper focuses on a workflow that uses and combines digital drawing and modeling tools with the theory of perspective restitution to reconstruct, even from a single photograph, the model of the architectural parts depicted in the image. The case study is a building designed by the architect Ernesto Basile, built in Palermo and destroyed by bombs in 1943.

Abstract
The memory of hundreds of buildings and urban sites destroyed in Europe during WW1 and WW2 is often preserved by a single or few photographs. The paper focuses on a workflow that uses and combines digital drawing and modeling tools with the theory of perspective restitution to reconstruct, even from a single photograph, the model of the architectural parts depicted in the image. The case study is a building designed by the architect Ernesto Basile, built in Palermo and destroyed by bombs in 1943.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
