Three-dimensional printing and rapid prototyping have also had a notable impact in reconstructive and esthetic surgery of the breast. This new technology has been used both for diagnostic oncoplasty, through, as we will see, the creation of models, faithful replicas of pathological conditions found on the individual patient, on which to perform an accurate preoperative planning, and, in some cases, where to perform targeted biopsies. In addition, attempts have been made to build models useful for surgical training for both reconstructive and esthetic plastic surgery purpose.

Abstract
Three-dimensional printing and rapid prototyping have also had a notable impact in reconstructive and esthetic surgery of the breast. This new technology has been used both for diagnostic oncoplasty, through, as we will see, the creation of models, faithful replicas of pathological conditions found on the individual patient, on which to perform an accurate preoperative planning, and, in some cases, where to perform targeted biopsies. In addition, attempts have been made to build models useful for surgical training for both reconstructive and esthetic plastic surgery purpose.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
