The shape of the city: streets, squares, built spaces and open spaces constitute the structure of urban space, the pattern of an enabling "urban infrastructure" that allows the urban community to perform specific functions such as living, move, produce, trade and similar others that have diversified over the centuries. Today we are experiencing a crucial passage that shows the deep crisis of the city, resulting from the combined strength of various issues that have gradually added up over the decades, from the late twentieth century to the present day.

La forma della città: strade, piazze, spazi costruiti e spazi aperti costituiscono la struttura dello spazio urbano, il pattern di una “infrastruttura urbana” abilitante che consente alla comunità urbana di svolgere specifiche funzioni come abitare, muoversi, produrre, commerciare e simili altre che si sono diversificate nei secoli. Oggi stiamo vivendo un passaggio cruciale che mostra la profonda crisi della città, derivante dalla forza combinata di varie problematiche che via via si sono sommate nei decenni, dalla fine del XX secolo fino ai giorni nostri.
