The article analyses a corpus of bilingual phraseological dictionaries of commerce which began to appear in 1899 and which, along with all the other dictionaries of commerce, play a very important role as a support in the learning of commercial French. In Italy, in technical schools, and especially in business schools, the use of the dictionary became an indispensable tool for consolidating this practical ability. To this end, the example, present in dictionaries, assumes a dominant role in this relationship, since it not only avoids confusing the different meanings, but also assumes a paradigmatic value. In this article, we describe this typology of dictionaries, highlighting the treatment of the example in the corpus taken into account, and we analyse how the example of business terms and phraseology provides the student, or any professional in the field, with concrete knowledge and skills to master the immediate needs of oral and written business communication.

Abstract
The article analyses a corpus of bilingual phraseological dictionaries of commerce which began to appear in 1899 and which, along with all the other dictionaries of commerce, play a very important role as a support in the learning of commercial French. In Italy, in technical schools, and especially in business schools, the use of the dictionary became an indispensable tool for consolidating this practical ability. To this end, the example, present in dictionaries, assumes a dominant role in this relationship, since it not only avoids confusing the different meanings, but also assumes a paradigmatic value. In this article, we describe this typology of dictionaries, highlighting the treatment of the example in the corpus taken into account, and we analyse how the example of business terms and phraseology provides the student, or any professional in the field, with concrete knowledge and skills to master the immediate needs of oral and written business communication.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
