Over the years, thanks to the increase in scientific knowledge in the diagnostic and therapeutic field and the refinement of molecular biology techniques, the management of cancer patients has been completely revolutionized. The foundations of precision cancer medicine were laid on this knowledge, which made it possible to move toward targeted choices, thanks to the identification of specific and unique molecular biomarkers that act as drivers for the use of target therapies. In this chapter, we summarize future perspectives on the subject.
