Festa mitica. Aby Warburg e Furio Jesi

The present contribution aims to compare the thought of the mythologist Furio Jesi with that of the historian of culture Aby Warburg about the specific theme of the feast. According to a line of consonance, we investigate different kinds of realization of the feast: the inner feast, the cruel feast, the warlike feast, and, mostly, the possibility of the ‘true feast’, which for Jesi coincides with the Renaissance festival, from which also Warburg is fascinated, considering it a passage from life to art. Following the thought of the two authors, we will see how energetic inversion can turn the feast into an instrument of political power.
