La Rai e l’audiodescrizione: stato dell’arte giugno dicembre 2022

The aim of this paper is to highlight, through a diachronic approach, the evolution of accessibility for people with visual impairment in the programs of the Italian Rai radio and television. The research develops over a time span ranging from June to December 2022 and is based on a questionnaire addressed to a group of 50 visually impaired and blind people, who were asked for a qualitative and quantitative opinion on the Rai offer with regards to audio description. The analysis of the programming revealed that Rai's audio-described production, although still evolving, has achieved considerable goals, increasing its offer, especially on the web, both at a qualitative and quantitative level. From the questionnaire, however, a discrepancy emerges in the judgment in relation to the age of the users between adolescents or pre-adolescents (10-20 years) and those over 50.

L’obiettivo del presente articolo è evidenziare, attraverso un approccio diacronico, le evoluzioni dell’accessibilità per persone con deficit visivo nei programmi della Rai radiotelevisione italiana. La ricerca si sviluppa su un arco temporale che va da giugno a dicembre 2022 e si basa su un questionario rivolto a un gruppo di 50 ipovedenti e non vedenti, a cui è stato chiesto un giudizio qualitativo e quantitativo sull’offerta Rai per quanto riguarda l’audiodescrizione. L’analisi della programmazione ha rilevato che la produzione Rai audiodescritta, seppur ancora in evoluzione, ha raggiunto dei traguardi considerevoli, incrementando la sua offerta, soprattutto sul web, sia a livello qualitativo che quantitativo. Dal questionario emerge, però, una discrepanza nel giudizio in rapporto all’età degli utenti tra adolescenti o pre-adolescenti (10-20 anni) e over 50.
