Laylat al-Qadr (“the Night of Destiny”) is the pivotal night that represents a foundational event in Islam: the night on which the Qurʾān was revealed to the Prophet Muḥammad. Described in the Qurʾān and referred to in the ḥadīth, the Night of Destiny has been a focus of exegesis in Islamic thought.
