In this modern reinterpretation of the fairy tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, set in the context of Italian design, Snow White, a young enthusiast of design, is forced to flee from her stepmother Grimilde due to the latter's jealousy. She finds refuge in the house of seven dwarfs, to whom she decides to show her gratitude by gifting them iconic Italian design objects such as Gaetano Pesce's UP5 armchair, the Sella stool by the Castiglioni brothers, an iconic Vespa scooter, Ettore Sottsass's Valentine typewriter, Vico Magistretti's Nathalie bed, an unusual funnel with Pinocchio's face named Pino, and a Bruno Munari-designed Zizì monkey. However, the dwarfs' obsession with Snow White's love for design leads them to misunderstand a vase with a love note to a blue-eyed boy as the prince, prompting them to seek revenge by killing both Snow White and Grimilde. The story reflects on the superficiality of icons and the importance of the reality of life, even in the context of Italian design, where iconic objects become symbols of desire and obsession but are ultimately surpassed by reality.

Abstract
The story reflects on the superficiality of icons and the importance of the reality of life, even in the context of Italian design, where iconic objects become symbols of desire and obsession but are ultimately surpassed by reality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
