The purpose of this article is to bring up the FaultTaxonomy© (hereafter FT) technique which we have developed from a computer model of error analysis and which we have adapted and applied to contrastive analysis and, in particular, to the error analysis of Italian learners of LE Spanish. The computer model consists of 10 passages (Faultconfinement-Fault latency; Fault detection; Fault masking; Retry; Diagnosis; Reconfiguration; Recovery; Restart; Repair and Reintegration) used, above all, to analyse a system's resistance to failure. These passages have been studied and applied to the process of detection, isolation, diagnosis and correction of those production errors, at phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical-semantic levels, which belong to the field of linguistic competence, which is part of the four neurofunctional modules identified by Paradis (2004).

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to bring up the FaultTaxonomy© (hereafter FT) technique which we have developed from a computer model of error analysis and which we have adapted and applied to contrastive analysis and, in particular, to the error analysis of Italian learners of LE Spanish. The computer model consists of 10 passages (Faultconfinement-Fault latency; Fault detection; Fault masking; Retry; Diagnosis; Reconfiguration; Recovery; Restart; Repair and Reintegration) used, above all, to analyse a system's resistance to failure. These passages have been studied and applied to the process of detection, isolation, diagnosis and correction of those production errors, at phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical-semantic levels, which belong to the field of linguistic competence, which is part of the four neurofunctional modules identified by Paradis (2004).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
