The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between the support for autonomy perceived by Secondary Physical Education students and the level of fear of failure they experience, as well as to find out the differences that exist depending on the student's sex and extracurricular sports practice. For this purpose, the Autonomy Support Questionnaire and the Performance Error Evaluation Inventory were administered. The sample consisted of 607 high school students between the ages of 12 and 18 (M = 14.91; DT = 1.46), with 286 boys and 321 girls. The results reflected that girls had a greater fear of experiencing shame than boys, who showed a greater fear of disturbing others important to them. In turn, the linear regression analysis reflected that support for autonomy was a predictor of fear of failure except for experiencing shame in people who do not practice extracurricular sports, with no relationship seen among those who practice sports. It is concluded that a climate of support for autonomy contributes to reducing students' fear of failure, especially among those who do not carry out extracurricular sports activities.

Abstract
It is concluded that a climate of support for autonomy contributes to reducing students' fear of failure, especially among those who do not carry out extracurricular sports activities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
