Tra Arte e Architettura

The essay, developed on the occasion of the presentation of the exhibition “Architecture as Metaphor” by Giuseppe Arcidiacono (Palermo, Villa Niscemi, 2 July 2016), investigates, from the point of view of the architect and the architectural researcher, some possible ideas for interest and confirmation for making architecture, in light of the awareness that, in the field of architecture, the game between art and science, between rule and exception, between parametrization and expressiveness of the unicum, defines the inseparable components of a process which, otherwise , would debase any rationale, trivializing the aspirations for the quality of the project. The works considered invite a possible synthetic reading which brings them back under some specific interpretative keys, some "key words" which could be identified in the terms of "memory", "place" and "myth".

Il saggio, elaborato in occasione della presentazione della mostra “Architettura come Metafora” di Giuseppe Arcidiacono (Palermo, villa Niscemi, 2 luglio 2016), indaga, dal punto di vista dell’architetto e del ricercatore di architettura, alcuni possibili spunti di d’interesse e conferme per il fare architettura, alla luce della consapevolezza che, nel campo dell’architettura, il gioco tra arte e scienza, tra regola ed eccezione, tra parametrizzazione ed espressività dell’unicum, definisce le componenti inscindibili di un processo che, altrimenti, svilirebbe qualsiasi ragione di senso, banalizzando le aspirazioni alla qualità del progetto. Le opere considerate, sollecitano una possibile lettura sintetica che le riconduce sotto alcune specifiche chiavi interpretative, alcune “parole chiave”che potrebbero essere individuate nei termini della “memoria”, del “luogo” e del “mito”.
