Nota metodologica

We interviewed over five hundred minors selected based on the number of reference CPIAs. Of the unaccompanied foreign minors present in Sicily, the official sources provide us with very general information, so before the survey we knew how many there were, how many were male and how many females and in which CPIA they were registered. Not having a complete and uniform list of names of minors enrolled in CPIAs and ignoring the distribution of any socio-demographic characteristics of this population of minors attending CPIAs, the sample was stratified based on this distribution. We adopted their distribution in the CPIA as a guide in identifying cases, however, leaving the interviewers free to select based on opportunities and availability. Therefore we transferred, in the sample, the proportional distribution of minors in the various Sicilian CPIAs trying to maintain the proportion by gender.

Abbiamo intervistato oltre cinquecento minori selezionati in base alla numerosità dei CPIA di riferimento. Dei minori stranieri non accompagnati presenti in Sicilia, le fonti ufficiali ci forniscono informazioni molto generali, per cui, prima della rilevazione sapevamo quanti fossero, quanti fossero maschi e quante femmine e in quali CPIA erano iscritti. Non disponendo di un elenco nominativo completo e unitario dei minori iscritti ai CPIA e ignorando la distribuzione di qualsiasi caratteristica socio-demografica di questa popolazione dei minori frequentanti i CPIA, il campione è stato stratificato in base a questa distribuzione. Abbiamo adottato come guida nella individuazione dei casi la loro distribuzione nei CPIA lasciando, tuttavia, libere le intervistatrici di selezionare in base alle occasioni e alle disponibilità. Dunque abbiamo trasferito, nel campione, la ripartizione proporzionale dei minori nei diversi CPIA siciliani cercando di conservare la proporzione per genere.
