Mediterranean identity sites. Technological challenges and smart solutions in rural areas

If the gradual abandonment of the smaller centers of the Mediterranean has ensured their preservation, today it is necessary to revitalize them. Through technological implementation, the paper proposes a synoptic framework of interventions and strategies aimed at the definition of an atlas of good practices compatible with the instances, values and material and immaterial heritage involved in the historical villages. A specific focus is addressed to the case of the 21 villages of the Madonie Park distinguished by a “participatory” process of possible modes of technological interventions.
