In Sardinia, transhumance has been an important economic and socio-cultural device. In the 1980s, pastoral mobility disappeared, and has recently been receiving marked attention as a tourist and identity heritage. The intervention briefly reflects on the historical dynamics, on the current dimension and on the future prospects of transhumance, also in relation to the UNESCO recognition of 2019.

In Sardegna la transumanza ha rappresentato un importante dispositivo economico e socio-culturale. Negli anni Ottanta la mobilità pastorale è scomparsa, e recentemente sta ricevendo una spiccata attenzione come patrimonio turistico e identitario. L’intervento riflette sinteticamente sulle dinamiche storiche, sulla dimensione odierna e sulle prospettive future della transumanza, anche in relazione al riconoscimento UNESCO del 2019.
