Migrazione e variazione diatopica, mobilità e cambio linguistico. Premesse allo studio delle varietà italoalbanesi

For the Italo-Albanian reality, the diatopic-diachronic relationship of dialect variation takes on different aspects compared to that experienced in the Italo-Romance reality. This is due to the fact that the linguistic-geographical dislocation (prior and subsequent to the diaspora) and the diachronic distribution of the various migratory stages, have produced historical and territorial discontinuity of the archipelagos and of the Arbëreshë islands variously distributed in the Italo-Romance continuum. In addition to this differential factor between the order of dialectological studies of the Italo-Romance sphere and those relating to the Italo-Albanian reality, other problematic relationships are argued in this essay between some fundamental concepts in studies on the dynamics of language contact and language change: in particular, the relationship between "isolation" and "preservation" of the language, and between "external (sociolinguistic) vitality" and "internal (linguistic) vitality" of the local variety of the linguistic repertoire
