Phygital accessibility and next normal for architectural heritage In the ways and purposes of using the built-up environment, both ordinary and characterised by cultural meanings, COVID-19 has accelerated changes that had already begun and in which the consolidation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution continues to play an essential role. Prefiguring post-pandemic scenarios, the spread of the Phygital dimension takes digitalisation beyond abstract and detached immateriality, seeking renewed connections and synergies between the physical and digital worlds linked to a specific place. The most recent advances in accessibility and inclusion in architectural heritage can be referred to the Phygital sphere: by leaving the virtual loop and leveraging concreteness, the user can more easily be a co-protagonist in the processes of knowledge, conservation and valorisation of sites of cultural interest. Thanks to the virtuous physical/digital/physical circle, made feasible by technological innovation, reliable preservation, and responsible use could be more realistic goals in the next normal, provided that no efforts are made to separate what Phygital tries to connect.

Abstract
Thanks to the virtuous physical/digital/physical circle, made feasible by technological innovation, reliable preservation, and responsible use could be more realistic goals in the next normal, provided that no efforts are made to separate what Phygital tries to connect.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
