In the contemporary debate on social conflicts, studies of political philosophy and moral philosophy often follow paths and reflections that intersect with the intent of developing a theory of recognition. For the wide interest that has emerged on this subject, it is proposed to reread the works of Judith Butler's most recent production, starting from Giving an Account of Oneself, translated into Italian with the title of Critica della violenza etica. In Butler's philosophical speculation, in dialogue with Levinas, Adorno, Arendt and Cavarero, the reflection on good life and the human condition characterized by vulnerability and precariousness of existence is re-articulated in order to elaborate a non-violent ethics in a present marked by conflicts and wars.
