After an overview on what the Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA hereafter) is and which are the intentions behind it, this article puts the attention on how the CETA had included and modified the 2003 Agreement between the European Community and Canada on trade in wines. The all-embracing new Agreement launched in May 2009 is now being considered by the Member States Authorities and inspires to improve wine sector but criticisms are still existing. A special attention here is given to the new dispute settlement resolution procedure and GPI regulation.
