La Settimana Santa in Sardegna: alcuni casi di studio

Holy Week represents one of the most important, expected and participated in the Sardinian ceremonial calendars. The Easter rites, and the variety of their expressive forms, still today record the involvement of the different layers of the populations who, in renewing the manifestations of Christ's death and resurrection, renew their sense of belonging and their own identities. Despite the economic transformations and socio-cultural changes that have occurred in recent decades, and beyond the different meanings that can take on and can be attributed to some ritual practices, rites and symbols of remote origin continue to be handed down and repeated, allowing the individual to respond to existential crises and to guide his "being in the world". Through the analysis of some contexts, we will try to clarify how the resurrection of Christ is charged, in the folkloric context, with a sign value that transcends the liturgical meaning, representing with its story of death and rebirth the triumph of the forces of the cosmos. on chaos, the rebirth of time and life, the affirmation of good over evil.

La Settimana Santa rappresenta uno dei periodi festivi più importanti, attesi e partecipati dei calendari cerimoniali sardi. I riti pasquali, e la varietà delle loro forme espressive, ancora oggi registrano il coinvolgimento dei diversi strati delle popolazioni che nel rinnovare le manifestazioni della morte e resurrezione di Cristo, rinnovano il proprio senso di appartenenza e le proprie identità. Nonostante le trasformazioni economiche e i cambiamenti socioculturali intervenuti negli ultimi decenni, e al di là dei differenti significati che possono assumere e possono essere attribuiti ad alcune pratiche rituali, continuano a tramandarsi e a ripetersi riti e simboli di origine remota, che permettono all’individuo di rispondere alle crisi esistenziali e di orientare il suo “essere nel mondo”. Attraverso l'analisi di alcuni contesti, si tenterà di chiarire dunque come la resurrezione di Cristo si carichi, in ambito folklorico, di un valore segnico che trascende il significato liturgico, rappresentando con la sua vicenda di morte e rinascita il trionfo delle forze del cosmos sul caos, la rinascita del tempo e della vita, l’affermazione del bene sul male.
