This study has correlated the functional recovery achieved by patients treated in integrated home care following a stroke or a fracture with biochemical parameters, lipid profile and nutritional status. The study involved 51 patients (average age 79.5 years) who were receiving home rehabilitation treatment. A statistically significant association between functional improvement and lower levels of fibrinogen, PCR, LDL-cholesterol and BUN emerged. The study supports the need for further investigation on the predictive role of inflammatory markers.

Abstract
This study has correlated the functional recovery achieved by patients treated in integrated home care following a stroke or a fracture with biochemical parameters, lipid profile and nutritional status. The study involved 51 patients (average age 79.5 years) who were receiving home rehabilitation treatment. A statistically significant association between functional improvement and lower levels of fibrinogen, PCR, LDL-cholesterol and BUN emerged. The study supports the need for further investigation on the predictive role of inflammatory markers.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
