We try to show that the "Carmen de bello Actiaco" (PHerc 817) was composed in the Neronian (if not the Vespasian) age and not in the Augustan age, as is generally believed. It also tries to show that it is not of an anti-Augustan trend. Some conjectures are proposed to the text.

Abstract
We try to show that the "Carmen de bello Actiaco" (PHerc 817) was composed in the Neronian (if not the Vespasian) age and not in the Augustan age, as is generally believed. It also tries to show that it is not of an anti-Augustan trend. Some conjectures are proposed to the text.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
