The paper reports an overview of some experiences carried out by some Italian research groups (Politecnico di Milano, University of Palermo, Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento) aimed to assess the conservation‟s state of some analysed paintings and provide useful information for further diagnostic applications. The activities were accomplished in interdisciplinary teams composed of photogrammetrists, surveyors, restorers and experts of non-destructive diagnostic techniques for Cultural Heritage. Two main aspects are considered: (i) the analysis of the radiometric contents using multispectral images and (ii) the 3D surveying for geometric deformation analysis by means of photogrammetry and laser scanning.
