The contribution aims to help open a reflection on the impact that the pandemic has had on the implementation of tourism enhancement strategies in marginal areas and at the same time raise a question relating to the next European programming. LEADER planning experiences are then taken into consideration and, in particular, the local development strategies prepared by the LAGs and their evaluation. In Sicily, the LAGs' SSLTPs, in the 2013-2020 programming period, in fact had a strategic hub in sustainable tourism. In this sense, Belìce represents the significant case study that is analyzed in order to advance, in an ongoing and fully open debate, a reflection that looks forward from contingency.
