Elogio delle contaminazioni “disciplinari”

The essay expresses the reasons for sharing the editorial line of the magazine, the three key points that define the theoretical profile of Historia Magistra and which can be summarized as follows: the fact of considering history "a fundamental right of all human beings", scientific dimension of the historical approach (and of social research in broader terms), the famous phrase of Marx for which history is "the beacon that illuminates all our knowledge". In this case, it is useful to re-read the Marxian statement within broader boundaries, replacing the "disciplinary" dimension (the one that sees, precisely in history "a" specific branch of knowledge) the methodological dimension, shared with other " "; that critical knowledge that questions its object, reflects on sources, witnesses and tools, recognizing the "limitedness" of every "scientific" approach but not for this reason renouncing to define the boundaries (always revisable) between "truth" and doxa; aware of the uses and political repercussions of his own analyzes although equally aware of his specific "mission".

Il saggio esprime i motivi di condivisione della linea editoriale della rivista, i tre punti cardine che definiscono il profilo teorico di Historia Magistra e che possono così essere riassunti: il fatto di considerare la storia “un diritto fondamentale di tutti gli esseri umani”, la dimensione scientifica dell’approccio storico (e della ricerca sociale in termini più ampi), la celebre frase di Marx per la quale la storia sarebbe “il faro che illumina ogni nostra conoscenza”. In questo caso, è utile rileggere l’affermazione marxiana dentro confini più ampi, sostituendo alla dimensione “disciplinare” (quella che vede, per l’appunto nella storia “una” specifica branca del sapere) la dimensione metodologica, condivisa con altre “discipline”; quel sapere critico che questiona il suo oggetto, riflette su fonti, testimoni e strumenti, riconoscendo la “limitatezza” di ogni approccio “scientifico” ma non per questo rinunciando a definire i confini (sempre rivedibili) tra “verità” e doxa; consapevole degli usi e delle ricadute politiche delle proprie analisi per quanto ugualmente consapevole della propria specifica “missione”.
